info

Benjamin McAuley is a Montréal-based visual artist and filmmaker focused on telling grounded human stories. With a cinematic style and a strong sense of narrative, he creates films and photographs that highlight identity, legacy, and lived experience—especially from voices that are often overlooked.

Originally from Lac-Brome, Benjamin is recognized for his distinct visual tone and his ability to build trust with a wide range of subjects. His work—whether through interviews, portraits, or documentaries—centers around honest storytelling and meaningful connection.

In addition to documentary and portrait work, Benjamin also enjoys shooting events like weddings, where emotion and storytelling naturally unfold. He equally values the creative challenge of fictional filmmaking, where he can explore narrative structure, character, and visual storytelling in new ways.

From community-driven projects for Brome Lake to portraits of bestselling author Louise Penny, Benjamin’s work is driven by intention. His practice is rooted in emotional clarity, social relevance, and visual impact. As he continues to grow, his focus remains on capturing stories that matter—with care, curiosity, and a cinematic lens.

"Every story deserves to be told."
